The research group of prof. Vecsei has special expertise regarding to clinical migraine research, animal experimental models of activated trigeminovascular system and neurophysiologic animal models. Due to the longstanding and remarkable collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy there is a unique experience of testing kynurenic-acid analogues in the animal models of migraine.

Key Personnel

László Vécsei, MD, PhD, is Professor and Director of the Department of Neurology and Dean of the Medical Faculty of University of Szeged. He is a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and is President of the Medical Class of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Regional Vice-President of the European Federation of Neurological Societies, Secretary General of Danube Neurology Symposium, and Past-Secretary of the European Society for Clinical Neuropharmacology.

Zsuzsanna Bohár, MsC, is a PhD student specialised in trigeminal ganglion stimulation as a tool to investigate migraine pain mechanisms.
